The Historical Section display at the 2007 Congress will be on Syphilis in history and the history of its laboratory diagnosis; up to and including the introduction of TPHA. We hope to be able to display relevant artefacts associated with the methods use e.g. WR, Kahn VDRL, RPR, TPI etc. Most of this would probably be things like bottles of reagents used; packaging or package inserts, possibly a Kahn shaker and similar equipment.
If any one has such historical memorabilia and is willing to loan it to us, I would be grateful if they would contact me on david.petts4@btinternet.com. We will of course give full acknowledgement for any thing that is used and reimburse postage cost if required.

The IBMS would like to thank all those who have helped and been involved in its many activities
and roles over the year, without this vital contribution the work and influence of the Institute would be greatly reduced. I would also like to personally thank all those who have helped with the website or contacted me with ideas, suggestions and comments. And last but no means least I wish you all a wonderful Christmas and happiness for the New Year.
