Jill became Chief Executive of the Institute of Biomedical Science (IBMS) in January 2011. For the previous nine years Jill was Chief Executive at a busy NHS hospital where she transformed the performance of the hospital, taking it from zero to three stars and then secured NHS Foundation Trust status.
Jill started her career as a clinical pharmacist before moving into management at St Mary’s Hospital, Paddington. Jill has an extensive career in senior leadership roles across the NHS including Chief Executive of Oxfordshire Community Health Trust, Director of Service and Strategic Development at the NHS South East Regional Office and Director of Operations and Deputy Chief Executive at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital, Stanmore. Jill has also worked in the private healthcare sector as a Divisional Managing Director.
Jill’s decision to join IBMS was driven by a motivation to work for an organisation that made a significant contribution to the quality of healthcare professional development across the UK. Jill is passionate about the importance of promoting and recognising excellence in the personal, professional and career development of Biomedical Scientists as a vital contribution to the delivery of first class patient care.
Jill holds a BSc in Pharmacy and an MBA from Henley, Jill is a member of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society, The Chartered Institute of Marketing, the Guild of Public Relations Practitioners and is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts.
