Company members

Commercial organisations and institutions are an important and integrated part of the Institute's work in helping to improve standards and promote the value of diagnostic testing to the welfare of society. Many commercial organisations connected with clinical laboratory services have joined the Institute's Company Membership Scheme.

Company member benefits

The benefits of becoming a Company Member are:

• Priority booking facilities at discounted rates for Institute conferences, symposia and the Biomedical Science Congress
• Discount advertising in the monthly The Biomedical Scientist which also has an editorial section with information on company members, news and products
• Receiving The Biomedical Scientist and the British Journal of Biomedical Science
• Access to the Institute's various information services, its scientific advisory panels and other experts in the field
• Contact with the IBMS Region and Branch network, many of which also have specialist discussion groups, meetings and trade shows
• Use of Company Members special logo, notepaper and literature demonstrating affinity within the diagnostic industry
• Representation of commercial interests.

IBMS Company Members Committee

IBMS Company members have formed the Company Members Committee to represent commercial interests and liase with other Institute committees, officers and staff. The group is particularly involved with the organising of the Institute's Biomedical Science Congress and works to strengthen the links between the trade organisations and the general membership of the Institute.

Company member representatives also work with the Institute's region and branch network and support events with tradeshows. The Committee is also involved in putting forward members for the IBMS Scientific Advisory Panels.
