Professional Education and Training for Biomedical Scientists
This booklet describes the new professional qualifications structure, with the Certificate of Competence Registration Portfolio, and the Institute's Specialist, Higher Specialist and Advanced Specialist Diplomas. Linked with it are Health Professions Council (HPC) registration, the responsibilities of trainers, the compilation of individual portfolios, CPD and training for new skills and working practices.

Clinical laboratory standards

The Institute awards training status to laboratories, subsequent to conformity with the IBMS Clinical Laboratory Standards.
