IBMS members Rex Lochinvar Kintanar, Tom Walton, Andrea Wilson, Kate Sullivan, Rachelle Garstone, May Kubba and Dalia Choudhury have been featured in an article in the Daily Mail detailing the efforts of over 63 hospital staff, who saved the life of baby Phineas Cockerham.
Phineas' parents Michael and Laura have produced a book of photographs, Phineas' Friends, to express their gratitude to all the staff, who have helped save their son’s life, and raise money for the Evelina Children's Hospital where he was treated.
Michael explained that "I wanted to highlight the huge team involved in his care, to show the enormous number of medics needed to save a life." In acknowledging every single member of staff involved in his son's care, including those biomedical scientists and medical laboratory assistants working 'behind the scenes', Michael’s book will help to raise the profile of the profession.
