The Higher Specialist Diploma is designed to complement academic knowledge at a postgraduate and is intended to test candidates' competence to practise professionally at a high level within their chosen biomedical science discipline.
Eligible candidates will have current Institute membership in the class of Member or Fellow and hold HCPC registration (Non-UK members will be exempt from this requirement.)
A minimum of 5 years whole-time equivalent post-registration (or post qualification for non-UK candidates) experience is recommended before attempting the Higher Specialist Diploma.

An equivalence route is available to individuals for whom the Higher Specialist Diploma is not applicable to their workplace. Please refer to the Diploma of Higher Specialist Practice (Fellowship by Thesis)
