An Introduction to Histology 1
This CPD is aimed at students, researchers and technical staff with an interest in histology – with an emphasis on the mouse. It covers the application of histology in research and the importance of using different techniques in processing, sectioning and staining. This CPD includes demonstrations and practical sessions presented by experienced technicians.

After completing this course, you will be able to:
- ability to recognise and embed a range of mouse tissues
- understand and experience the basic use of a microtome to cut wax sections from mouse tissues
- perform PAS and Perls’ stains on mouse tissues
- gain a better understanding of procedures that need to be considered to achieve your required end result
