CPO Medicines Mechanisms Programme - have your say

CPO Medicines Mechanisms Programme - have your say
22 August 2017
We’re working with the Deputy Chief Scientific Officer, NHS England, to make the case for change in legislation that would allow biomedical scientists to supply and/or administer medicines to patients

NHS England and the IBMS have set up a Project Working Group to write a report highlighting the need for changes to legislation to permit clinical scientists and biomedical scientists to supply and administer medicines. This process will take approximately two years with several stages to complete before any recommendations can be made to the government.

We are looking to present a selection of case studies to the project board, across all our disciplines, to help the board make the case for change. Your story could be the key to achieving this.

We want to hear from members if you have a view on how to supply or administer medicines to patients that will improve patient care and experience, as well as increase effectiveness of current resources. Your examples could reflect improvements to current practice and help shape future practice. We would also be keen to hear about any community-based opportunities you may be involved in.

Submissions

Please send your case studies to contact@ibms.org by Tuesday 5th September
