Honorary Fellowship
Recognising exceptional service to the profession
IBMS Honorary Fellowship is awarded to non-members of high repute and distinction who have made a significant impact on the profession, the organisation or healthcare.
Some of our Honorary Fellows include:
Dr Archie Prentice; Past President of the Royal College of Pathologists (RCPath), Vice President and Chair of the Anthony Nolan Bone Marrow Trust and founder and first Director of the South-West Regional Cancer Organisation.
Nominees should have:
- never been a member of the IBMS
- made a significant impact on the profession, the organisation or healthcare.

Nominations are invited from Licentiates, Members and Fellows of the IBMS.
You will be required to secure the support of your IBMS Regional Council Member. If you live overseas and do not have a Regional Council member please email mc@ibms.org to discuss a suitable alternative supporter.
Complete and return the IBMS Life and Honorary Membership nomination form to mc@ibms.org.
Nominations are accepted throughout the year.
The nominator will be informed in writing and the award made at the IBMS Annual General Meeting (AGM), President’s Inauguration or suitable local event.
