About Mary Macdonald
The Mary Macdonald Prize for Achievement and Bursary were established in memory of former IBMS Council member Mary Macdonald.
Mary is remembered as an outstanding professional, colleague and mentor, who began her career as a laboratory support worker and was keen to encourage and recognise excellence in others working in similar roles through this award. Mary made a significant contribution to the Institute throughout her life, serving as an IBMS Council member and on a number of IBMS Committees.
Mary Macdonald Prize for Achievement
The Mary Macdonald Prize for Achievement is awarded biennially and used to sponsor 20 places at IBMS Congress.
How to Apply
Applicants are invited to submit a 250-word statement on why they would like to attend Congress.

Send your statement to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Applications must be made by 31st January on a Congress year (i.e. 2019, 2021, 2023, etc.) to be considered.
The IBMS Mary Macdonald Prize for Achievement was established in 2014 to reflect former IBMS Council member Mary Macdonald's passion for education and desire to support those starting their career in biomedical science.
