Haematological Morphology: Morphology and its relation to disease

This course is designed for those studying for their specialist portfolio in haematology, but is suitable as a refresher for those returning to the subject or an update for those already qualified. Day one deals with the proper use and care of the microscope, staining and stain QC/ trouble shooting and normal haematopoiesis. This day will contain a workshop on normal morphology. Day two will discuss the pre-analytical variables that can affect the sample and result, disease process and the associated morphological abnormalities and the clinical significance of the generated report for the patient, be it negative or abnormal. These two days can be taken together or individually as suits the learners needs.
