To raise awareness and a better understanding of the theory linked to practical duties of an Medical Laboratory Assistant and their role within the NHSCSP. To recognise key aspects of the MLA duties and the connection to the overall aim of the Cytology department with links to other staff groups and clinical teams. To show the key elements of the job and the importance of methodical work methods incorporating essential health & safety standards.
