The Laboratory Diagnosis of Malaria 2018

This three-day intensive course is aimed primarily at haematologists and others involved in the laboratory identification of human malaria. This is a very practical course with the emphasis on the identification of parasites by microscopy using thin and thick blood films.

To provide practical training and update information on the accurate diagnosis of malaria  infection  together with practice in the methods used for the identification and  speciation by traditional and molecular methods. Participants will also address the strengths and weaknesses of the rapid detection tests currently in use for malaria and the role they play in laboratory diagnosis.
