UK SMI reissued on evaluations, validations and verifications of diagnostic tests

The UK Standards Unit for microbiology investigations (SMI) has reissued a guidance on diagnostic tests. This was developed with the support of Public Health England in partnership with the NHS, Public Health Wales and other professional organisations.

The guidance pertains to the evaluation, validation and verification of diagnostic tests. Amendments to an earlier issued guidance on the topic feature a new title, additions to a diagram and table, updated references and the variable of uncertainty of measurement added to the document’s content.

For more information on the guidance, see the Gov.uk website. Should you have any questions, contact the Standards Unit.
