Get ready for IBMS Congress 2019

Book your place at Congress online from 1 February

IBMS Congress 2019 will take place at the International Convention Centre (ICC) in Birmingham from Sunday 22 September to the 25 September. Now with a dedicated website, with all the details on talks, bookings and travel tips you’ll need at your fingertips.

This year sees an exciting programme, which has:

  • Plenary talks from esteemed speakers like Professor Dame Sue Hill DBE
  • biomedical science lectures, now with two new lecture programmes on Point of Care Testing (POCT) and veterinary science
  • a dedicated support staff programme
  • discipline specific workshops
  • Poster exhibitions 
  • an industry showcase
  • Fun social networking functions

Bookings and rates

Bookings will be open online from Friday 1 February. This year we’re offering delegates the chance to book their place at Congress for 1,2 or 3 days, with the option of adding a fourth (a half day) on Sunday 22 September.

Booking rates are currently offered at the 2013 rate. We encourage our members to take advantage of this great opportunity. Get your Premium Early Booking Discount by purchasing your place at Congress before 31 March 2019, or take advantage of the Early Booking Discount by buying your place at Congress before 30 June 2019.

Grants and prizes

Having trouble affording Congress? Apply for the Jen Johnson Bursary today. Set up in memory of former Council member Jen Johnson, this bursary enables more delegates to attend Congress. This year the bursary will award 20 successful applicants with a grant of up to £1000. 

Non-HCPC registered members can also apply for the Mary Macdonald Congress award, which offers 20 free places to attend the Biomedical Support Staff programme.
