IBMS pledges for Fab Change Week

IBMS pledges for Fab Change Week
27 October 2017
Calling all members - make a pledge and take action

The IBMS is taking part in Fab Change Week 2017, 13-17 November. Our council members, including president-elect Alison Geddis (pictured), have launched our pledges to “promote the valuable contributions our members play in healthcare” and to “raise public awareness of biomedical science”.

We’re asking for our members to showcase the amazing work of biomedical science staff by pledging an idea, taking action and then sharing the outcomes.

You can pledge to:

  • improve patient safety or patient experience
  • improve the work environment in your workplace
  • promote biomedical science
  • represent our members/the biomedical science community
  • increase awareness of diversity, equality
  • service improvements
  • improve leadership
  • develop laboratory staff
  • demonstrate you are using the most advanced lab service improvements available

It’s easy to take part:

1)      Think of something you want to pledge about

2)      Write your pledge on paper and photograph it – pledge templates are available on the website via or you could write it on a post-it note or notepad or a RCT coffee cup!

3)      Upload the pledge to the Fab website – this is as easy as updating your Facebook status!

Ensure you use the hashtag #LabLeaders in your pledge. You can also share your pledge with our Twitter account @IBMScience.
