The UCC Biomedical Society debated NUIG on antibiotics

The IBMS student affiliate society UCC Biomedical Society recently had a lively debate with NUI Galway Biomedical science society.

This Inter-varsities Biomedical debate focused on the topic: “Antibiotic resistance will be the death of humanity". This debate was judged by the NUIG Philosophical society and established relations between the two biomedical student societies.

Although UCC did not win the debate,  one of their team members Niamh Walsh, won runner up for the best speaker on their team.

UCC Biomedical Society President David Duggan commented,

“The whole event provided a fantastic opportunity to get to know our fellow Biomeds, and we would like to thank the NUI Galway Biomedical science society for all their hard work and hospitality.

The debate was a great success, and hopefully will be the first in a long line of future collaborations to come".

UCC Biomedical Society is one of 20 IBMS student affiliate societies. The IBMS takes pride in supporting university students’ biomedical societies around the globe.
