New ‘Genomics in Clinical Genetics’ resource launched

The Genomics Education Programme (GEP) has launched a new resource for clinical geneticists, focusing on the advances in and increased use of genomic technologies and how this has changed the geneticist’s role. The film and accompanying information have been developed in collaboration with Professor Bill Newman, geneticist, and professor of translational genomic medicine at The University of Manchester. 

Clinical geneticists are more in demand than ever before, and in his film Professor Newman explores the key aspects of the geneticist’s role in this new era of medicine, as well as looking to the future to consider what may be around the corner.  The 'Genomics in Medical Specialties' series looks at the impact of genomics across different disciplines within medicine, with a focus on the way in which new technology and rapidly increasing knowledge are changing the way we work and the ways in which patients are treated and cared for.
