Jackie Wales

Head of Clinical Laboratories, Golden Jubilee National Hospital

Jackie joined the profession in 1986, traiing on the south coast of England in Eastbourne. She undertook her first senior post in 2003 which included Training Manager responsibilities for the Haematology/Blood Transfusion department within Yorkhill Children’s Hospital.

Jackie is heavily involved through membership of the training forum in the implementation of the integrated degree in Scotland and still delivering train the trainer and students pre placement sessions in the West of Scotland. She teaches on the Quality and Laboratory module of the GCU MSc. It is her non- substantive role as HCS Lead for NHS Golden Jubilee that has led to her involvement with Academy and subsequent proposal for the Accelerated Training for Biomedical Science Graduates.
