Tracey has now been an employee of the NHS as a Cytologist for the last 35 years and she remains passionate about the subject. She is originally from Lanarkshire in Scotland but began her cytology career in London. Tracey currently works in the Cytology department at the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital in Devon.
Tracey is a consultant biomedical scientist and laboratory manager. She is also the training co-ordinator for Cellular Pathology and a Quality manager. Since the transfer of the cervical cytology service to Bristol she no longer reports these cases; however she continues to report diagnostic cytology and attend ENT, thyroid, EUS Pancreas and EBUS clinics as part of our ROSE setup.
Tracey is a member of the IBMS Cytopathology Advisory Panel and was involved in the work to create the new diagnostic cytology specialist portfolio.
