Tony MacDonald

IT Technical Architect, North West London Pathology, Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust

Tony is an experienced healthcare professional with 35+ years NHS experience. He has a Master's Degree (MSc) in Immunology for Disease Control from the University of Surrey and was previously an IBMS Fellow and Associate Member of The British Computer Society.

Tony has undertaken various management courses and has qualifications including the Imperial College Business School mini MBA Programme, PRINCE2 Project Management, ITIL Service Management and several Microsoft- certified technology platform courses.

His early career was spent as a Biomedical Scientist working in various areas within Diagnostic Haematology and Blood Transfusion laboratories. Previously Principal Biomedical Scientist in Diagnostic Haematology at Hammersmith Hospital. Ten years as Pathology IT Operations Manager for Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust managing five major systems, and numerous smaller systems, across four hospital sites.

Currently, Tony works as a Technical Architect / IT Transformation Lead, North West London Pathology - the role includes project management, financial and general management, systems management and development.
