Point of Care Testing is a rapidly growing area of diagnostic medicine and is undergoing many changes as new technologies are introduced. Our seminars are designed to provide a review of current POCT practices and innovations, and the clinical significance of the parameters measured in these settings. New individual approaches, performance aspects, and predicted future trends will also be presented in order to provide you with a comprehensive understanding of the current and likely future challenges presented to those who provide health care, as well as Point of Care programme providers.

SCOTTISH DIAGNOSTIC VIROLOGY GROUP (SDVG) AUTUMN MEETING NOVEMBER 2018

Demand Optimisation: Rational Testing Approaches in Pathology November 2018

Demand optimisation in the context of pathology testing offers the potential to maximise appropriate testing and minimise inappropriate testing. In turn, this will support optimal clinical care and drive more effective use of scarce healthcare resources. The aim of this workshop is to showcase examples of innovative good practice in optimising diagnostic test use, for information and to inspire participants to engage in similar work.
