SHYPS Pathology Network, Hull
Phillipa is nearing the end of the HSST programme, achieving FRCPath by examination in 2022. She works as part of the SHYPS pathology network and is based in Hull, working with the ID and Microbiology Clinical teams. Prior to HSST she worked as a Chief Biomedical Scientist in Manchester, with over a decade of service to HPA/PHE. Her training started in Cardiff PHLS in 2002 and she is a proud supporter of the Welsh Microbiology Association.
Phillipa has been a member of the IBMS Microbiology advisory group since 2018 and she is passionate about the development of Biomedical Scientists and keen to see the expansion of clinical training opportunites in all areas of the UK. Her research interests include the management of chronic lung disease, antibiotic resistance and wound healing, she is supporting the DRESSINg Study sponsored by the Healthcare Infection Society to improve the understanding of chronic wound management.
