Celebrating 50 Years: ACLM Milestone Gala

The event was a memorable celebration, featuring the presence of esteemed guests, including the President and CEO, who were honoured by Joanna's participation and contributions.

A highlight of the event was the formal handover of the chains of office from the current president, Bernie Quirke, to the new president, Sinead Creagh. Joanna extended her best wishes to Sinead for her presidency, adding,

"I hope that the IBMS can continue to offer support and the benefit of our experience in promoting advanced practice and different routes to registration."

Joanna also underscored the long-standing relationship between the IBMS and medical scientists in Ireland, noting that many ACLM members are also proud IBMS members. She even had the pleasure of meeting Robin Farquarson, an IBMS member for a remarkable 67 years, highlighting the enduring bond and collaboration between the two organisations.

Joanna remarks:

“I was absolutely delighted to be invited to the gala luncheon to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Academy of Clinical and Laboratory Medicine in Dublin on the 18th May.
