David Wells inducted into Pathology Hall of Fame
David Wells, Chief Executive of the Institute of Biomedical Science (IBMS), has been named among the inaugural inductees into The Pathologist magazine's Power List Hall of Fame.
Launched in 2026, the Hall of Fame recognises individuals who have made a lasting contribution to pathology and whose influence has been felt across the profession over many years.
David is one of 15 individuals selected for the inaugural Hall of Fame, which honours those who have appeared on the magazine's annual Power List five or more times, alongside influential figures whose loss has been widely felt across the pathology community.
As Chief Executive of the IBMS, David has been a strong advocate for biomedical scientists, championing the profession and raising awareness of the essential role laboratory services play in patient care. His work has focused on strengthening the voice of biomedical science and ensuring its contribution is recognised across the wider healthcare system.
Reacting to the recognition, David said:
An incredible honour to be included in this inaugural Hall of Fame. Pathology, so central to patient care, is a huge team effort. Thank you to all those teams that work, deliver and advocate for pathology.
The recognition highlights David's longstanding contribution to the profession and his commitment to championing the vital role of pathology in patient care.
