Rapid Onsite Evaluation
The Rapid Onsite Evaluation (ROSE) module is available to IBMS Members working in an IBMS-approved laboratory for post-registration training. It is not open to Associate or Licentiate members or those in pre-registration training.
The assessment takes place in the candidate’s clinic environment and includes an evaluation by external examiners who review the candidate’s portfolio, knowledge, and understanding.
📌Note:
- Candidates should refer to the full guidance on completing Specialist Portfolios for specific instructions on portfolio compilation and evidence selection.
- Training opportunities related to ROSE are available through the North of England Pathology and Screening Education Centre (NEPSEC) website.
Candidates must maintain IBMS membership throughout the qualification for their specialist portfolio to be examined.
To request an examination, the laboratory manager or training officer must submit an Application for Examination of Specialist Portfolio to [email protected].
Once the application is received, IBMS will aim to allocate an examiner within two months. The assigned examiner will then contact the laboratory training officer to arrange a portfolio examination date.
To apply for the ROSE module, candidates must submit the following to the IBMS Specialist Team:
- 📩 Submit a completed IBMS Specialist Diploma application form to [email protected].
- Payment (refer to the application form for fees and payment methods)
Candidates already qualified and experienced at or above the specialist level can take this module as a standalone qualification by completing the Specialist Application Form.
Once payment and the application are received and accepted, the ROSE module will be issued.
📌 Please note:
- The fee includes the end-point assessment.
- Candidates are responsible for their own travel expenses related to the end-point assessment.
