IBMS Strategy 2026-29 published
In January our President launched our new Strategy 2026–2029, setting out a clear direction for the organisation and the profession over the next three years.
Building on the success of the previous strategy
The new plan focuses on strengthening visibility, promoting the value of biomedical science, and championing the profession across healthcare and beyond.
At its core are the three key themes of our membership value proposition – support, progress and promote – which underpin how we will continue to deliver for our members and advance the profession.
The strategy outlines ambitions to support a sustainable biomedical science workforce, expand access to training and qualifications, and raise the profile of biomedical scientists at national and international levels. It also sets out plans to grow and diversify our membership, enhance professional development opportunities, and ensure the long-term sustainability of the IBMS.
IBMS Chief Executive David Wells said:
In a time of enormous change, it is right that the IBMS responds with an ambitious, exciting strategy to keep biomedical science at the heart of healthcare.
