Update on IBMS education turnaround times

The turnaround time for processing application forms for the registration training portfolio and specialist portfolios remains within 4–6 weeks. Logging and recording application forms for assessments, including verification or examination of a portfolio, are also completed within 4–6 weeks.

The allocation of an assessor may take longer for onsite portfolio assessments and for specialist portfolios in certain disciplines. The Education team regularly contacts verifiers and examiners to ask them to support candidates in completing their assessment.

The summer period is particularly busy for the allocation of verifiers and the processing of Certificates of Competence for students and apprentices completing BSc programmes. This may have a short-term impact on turnaround times.

We are very grateful to all verifiers and examiners who give up their time to complete verifications and examinations. We are continuing to work to minimise the impact of the busy summer period and annual leave across practice settings on the completion of portfolio assessments.
