EDI Workshop: Anti-Racism

An in-person half-day anti-racism workshop facilitated by Tahmina Hussain

This workshop will be facilitated by IBMS Council member and head of the IBMS Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Working Group, Tahmina Hussain, at the IBMS head office in London.

Anti-racism is about actively identifying and opposing racism by challenging the systems, behaviours and beliefs that perpetuate inequality. As part of our ongoing commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion, and as an opportunity for continuing professional development, this workshop invites colleagues to reflect on and strengthen their understanding of antiracism.

Together, we will explore practical approaches to inclusion and allyship to create a more equitable and respectful environment for everyone.

The workshop will focus on:

  • Increasing confidence in recognising and challenging racism
  • Developing an understanding of the impact of racism on staff and students
  • Exploring the role of an active bystander in challenging and dismantling racism in the workplace
  • Acquiring practical skills and approaches for creating an anti-racist and inclusive environment for staff and students

This workshop will not be recorded.

Please note that this workshop will include discussion of racism and lived experiences of discrimination. The session will be delivered in a facilitated, psychologically safe environment, with appropriate support signposted.

Please book in advance.
