UK Standards for Microbiology August 2025

The UK Standards for Microbiology have announced an update to

UK SMI ID 1: Introduction to the identification of medically important bacteria and fungi from culture. Review of Users' comments (ISSUED)

Comments received as part of the consultation process for the development of the UK SMI can be seen in the associated Review of Users' Comments document. 

We would also like to draw your attention to the publication of a scientific point change to UK SMI ID 22: Identification of Shiga toxin-producing Escherichia coli (STEC). For full details on the updates made to the document, please refer to the amendment table.
