Sadhbh-Rose’s Lab Tour at NHS Dumfries and Galloway

On 19th June, the team at NHS Dumfries and Galloway welcomed 7 year old Sadhbh-Rose to the blood science labs for her very own Harvey’s Lab Tour.

Hospital visits can often make Sadhbh-Rose feel anxious, so the team hoped that exploring the lab might help her feel more comfortable and confident ahead of future appointments. But as soon as she spotted her very own lab coat and goodie bag waiting for her, she knew this would be different from a routine check-up! 

The visit was brimming with fun and curiosity. Sadhbh-Rose looked for emojis under the microscope with Sue, helped keep platelets moving, and watched colourful chemical reactions in action. She even completed the eye spy challenge in record time.

To finish the day, Sadhbh-Rose struck a pose with all her Harvey’s Lab Tours goodies. Harvey Bear is now going along to every appointment with her for a bit of comfort and support.
