How do I apply for HCPC registration?

How do I become HCPC registered with a degree from overseas?

If your degree was completed outside the UK and you have professional experience as a biomedical scientist, you will need to contact the HCPC to apply for registration through their international application route.

If the HCPC reject your application you can contact registration@ibms.org to request a degree assessment.

Once you have completed:

you can contact the HCPC to apply for registration.

 


How do I become HCPC registered with an IBMS Accredited degree awarded before 2002?

Please contact the IBMS Registration Team to request a degree assessment. 

 


How do I become HCPC registered with an IBMS Accredited ordinary/pass degree?

If your degree is an ordinary or pass degree because you failed to complete a research project please contact your course leader about the possibility of undertaking a research project to achieve an honours classification for your degree.

If your degree is an ordinary or pass degree for other reasons please contact a university offering an IBMS Accredited biomedical science degree to find out if your qualification can be used for advanced entry into their accredited degree programme.

 


Is my degree HCPC approved?

Can I use an IBMS Accredited Masters degree to meet HCPC education standards for registration? 

An IBMS Accredited postgraduate degree does not count towards the academic requirements for HCPC registration, but does meet the requirements for registration with the Science Council as a Chartered Scientist (CSci).

 


How do I renew my HCPC registration?

You can ensure that your name stays on the HCPC Register by renewing your HCPC registration by:

  • using your online HCPC account or
  • downloading and sending an HCPC renewal form and payment to the HCPC

 


How does the IBMS support me to maintain my HCPC registration?

The IBMS CPD scheme enables you to show you have met HCPC CPD standards by providing a framework for recording your CPD activity.

Our new CPD ePortfolio is designed so that you can easily download activities recorded in your ePortfolio in pdf and CSV format to use as evidence for your HCPC CPD audit.

The categories are used in the IBMS CPD scheme reflect HCPC CPD categories, which makes it easier for you to use activities recorded in your IBMS CPD ePortfolio as evidence that you have met HCPC CPD standards.

I was on the HCPC register and want to be readmitted

If you were registered with the HCPC in the past and now wish to be re-registered, you will need to apply for readmission to the HCPC register.
