SHOT is pleased to announce this webinar highlighting the importance of accurate and complete patient identification for safe transfusions in neonates and children.

The webinar will include some illustrative cases to highlight key learning points and will consider potential solutions available to improve patient identification.

This 60-minute webinar is free to access and will include:

  • A 40 minute presentation focusing on the challenges, practical steps and solutions related to accurate and complete patient identification in children and neonates. Clinical and laboratory aspects will be discussed including sampling requirements for paediatric transfusion.
  • An opportunity to hear views from a patient and a parent.
  • A 10 -15 minute interactive Q&A session.
  • An excellent opportunity for CPD through reflective practice. The webinar will be recorded and will be available to view on the SHOT website.

This webinar is relevant to healthcare professionals involved in transfusion - nursing staff, laboratory staff, clinicians, transfusion practitioners, as well as haemovigilance and risk management specialists.
