Mandatory update courses for staff working in cervical cytology screening
The day starts with a lecture discussing the features of high grade dyskaryosis and its mimics pointing out features useful in distinguishing between them. This is followed by a workshop of original dotted slides all of which were passed up as high grade, some of which represent genuine high grade and some of which are the mimics. Most of the cases have the answers on the reverse and are meant for self-study, but 12 cases are blind and will be discussed around the multi-header microscope after lunch. The multi-header session is followed by a "true of bluff" presentation on cases from the cervical cancer audit with some fake case histories and mimics to consolidate the earlier learning. The talks are rounded off on a talk about medico-legal aspects.
Through plenary lectures, case presentations and workshop discussion, delegates will hear about the latest diagnosis and management.
