Science Council honours IBMS members at CPD Awards 2020
6 November 2020
IBMS members have received commendations at this year’s Science Council CPD Awards.

The annual CPD Awards are designed to celebrate the continuing professional development (CPD) efforts and achievements of registrants across the Science Council registers: Registered Science Technician (RSciTech), Registered Scientist (RSci), Chartered Scientist (CSci) and Chartered Science Teacher (CSciTeach).

Two IBMS members were recognised for their exceptional CPD:

  •  Katy Johnson RSciTech - Commendation (shown on left)
  •  Janice Harland CSci - Commendation (shown on right)

Christian Burt, Professional Support Services Manager said: “Katy and Janice should be really proud to receive commendations from the Science Council for their CPD. Applicants for the Science Council CPD Awards span the entire UK-wide scientific and technical community. Once again, it is IBMS members who have shone bright and been commended for their clear commitment to lifelong learning and self & service improvements”

Congratulations to our commended scientists!

This year’s Science Council CPD awards culminated today on the 6th November 2020 – following a week of digital celebrations.

While celebrated from afar this year due to the coronavirus pandemic, the CPD Awards still commended Science Council registrants’ commitment to professional excellence - featuring videos, top tips and photographs from our winners and commendations.

To be a winner or to be awarded a commendation for the CPD Awards demonstrates an individual’s commitment to undertaking work-based learning and self-directed learning at a high, exemplary standard in order to benefit the quality of their practice and to benefit colleagues, patients, clients or any other users of the service they provide.

On behalf of the Institute, we are proud of our members for their achievements and wish them the best of luck in their careers.

Hear from Katy and Janice on the Science Council's website.
