Show your support for Rare Disease Day 2017

Launched by EURORDIS in 2008, Rare Disease Day is supported by professional organisations around the world. On this day, stories of patients afflicted with rare diseases are shared to promote the obstacles, issues and goals.

The theme for 2017 is ‘research’, along with the slogan ‘With research, possibilities are limitless.’

For many patients the reality is that a rare disease may be diagnosable but treatment is still a problem. Rare Disease Day is a call for global awareness of this and the issues rare disease patients face, as well as to share their stories with the world.

The day is also used to highlight the seriousness of just how many of these conditions exist and continue to affect our global population. Professional associations and networks around the world today are focusing their efforts on raising awareness and calling for more research to be done.
