Advancing Healthcare Awards Northern Ireland 2017

Advancing Healthcare Awards Northern Ireland 2017
25 July 2017
The AHA NI awards are now open for entries

This autumn the Advancing Healthcare Awards will be held at the AHA 2017 conference in Northern Ireland. These awards are to celebrate the contributions healthcare scientists and allied health professionals have made to health and social care.

This year’s theme is ‘delivering together’, based on the Department of Health’s report on Health and Wellbeing 2026 – Delivering together. The prize categories include building capacity in communities and in prevention, enhancing support in primary care, innovation in cancer rehabilitation and for leadership.

Professor Ian Young, Chief Scientific Advisor at the Department of Health NI said, “Science drives transformation of the delivery of health and social care. Healthcare scientists play a key role in generating and implementing this evidence, supporting and in many cases directly delivering patient care.
These awards provide a welcome opportunity to highlight and celebrate the major and often underappreciated contribution which healthcare scientists make across the health and social care system.”

The closing date for entries is 4 September. For more information see the AHA website
