Healthcare Science Week 2023
Every year, Healthcare Science Week (HCSW) aims to bring together over 50 different scientific specialisms to celebrate and raise the profile of the scientists, support staff and students that work in laboratories supporting the NHS.
NHS healthcare science helps to shape the diagnosis, prevention and treatment of disease and to improve public health across the nation. HCSW paves the way for a much-needed spotlight to be shone on the accomplishment of biomedical scientists and other key professionals in this diverse field.
The IBMS would like to thank its wonderful members for everything they do for the better health of the public.
This year, we are particularly pleased to launch our new Sample Journey video which details what happens to a patient’s semen sample and the biomedical scientists who work behind-the-scenes in hospital laboratories to process it.
We know that there are many of our members this week hosting events or stands to boost public engagement about our profession. We are proud to have supported over 50 events this week with our marketing freebies helping to promote biomedical science.
With IBMS members regularly taking part in these activities, we encourage you to join in and hold laboratory tours and host events to promote how biomedical science is at the heart of healthcare.
