The book Haematology, Second Edition, has been shortlisted for the Undergraduate Textbook Prize in the Royal Society of Biology Book Awards

Congratulations to IBMS members Gary Moore, Gavin Knight and Andrew Blann, whose book Haematology, Second Edition, has been shortlisted for the Undergraduate Textbook Prize in the Royal Society of Biology Book Awards.

Dr Gary Moore CSci FIBMS is a consultant Biomedical Scientist at Guy’s and St. Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust. Gavin Knight CSci FIBMS is a Principal Lecturer in Haematology and Course Leader for the IBMS accredited BSc (Hons) Biomedical Science programme at the University of Portsmouth. Dr. Andrew Blann FRCPath CSci FIBMS is the editor of the British Journal of Biomedical Science and Senior Lecturer at the University of Birmingham.

Haematology is in the Fundamentals of Biomedical Science series, which is endorsed by the IBMS. It discusses scientific theory and practice, making it an essential text for any aspiring biomedical scientist. The edition includes case studies, discussion questions and tests to help students improve their analytical and problem solving skills.

This book features a new chapter on haemostasis disorders. It also links to an Online Resource Centre that offers readers video interviews with biomedical scientists, an interactive digital microscope, and footage of scientists working in a laboratory.
