Want to be responsible for creating and launching the multi-platform presence of this successful monthly magazine?

The Biomedical Scientist, the monthly magazine of the Institute of Biomedical Science (IBMS) is currently looking to hire an editor.

This is a part-time role, three days per week, £36-40,000 p.a. pro rata subject to experience.

You will be responsible for managing:

• The editorial commissioning, submissions and approvals process and the magazine’s production schedule ensuring the magazine is published on time and to client satisfaction

• Relationships with a sub-editor, designer, production manager, digital department and the IBMS to ensure high quality and engaging content and design

• Effective relationships with the advertising sales team to support the magazine’s commercial objectives

• Supplements, the magazine’s soon-to-be-launched website and other brand extensions

• Digital content production including working with a content management system and creating a magazine e-newsletter

The Biomedical Scientist is highly regarded and is valued for its range of topical science features that range from overviews of new techniques and innovations to ‘refreshers’ on established aspects of biomedical science.

It carries a blend of scientific articles, news and research. It achieves a balance of appealing to, and being relevant to, a multi-disciplinary membership that ranges in professional experience from undergraduate students through to senior managers and scientists.
