New student affiliate society joins IBMS
2 December 2016
Nottingham Trent University Biomedical Science Society joins the IBMS as the newest student affiliate society

The IBMS would like to give a warm welcome to its newest student affiliate society, Nottingham Trent University’s Biomedical Science Society.

This group is dedicated to supporting its members in their studies and to help Nottingham Trent students learn more about careers in the field by providing communication with professionals, University staff, and other organisations. This society also came in top in a university group logo design competition.

This is the twentieth student affiliate society to join the IBMS. We will look forward to working with them and supporting their members in their academic studies. The IBMS helps provide support to student biomedical science societies and encourages members and alumni to participate in volunteer opportunities and public events to increase awareness of the profession and help inspire future scientists.

For more details about what the IBMS can do for a biomedical science student affiliate society, read about Zeshan Ahmed’s experience here. As former president of the Middlesex University Natural Sciences Academic Society, he commented,

“We had big ambitions and the IBMS helped us to realise them - producing the first ever natural sciences careers expo, a student orientated event to increase the awareness about career paths and progression in science.”
