World Cancer Day 2017

World Cancer Day 2017
4 February 2017
Show your support for World Cancer Day this year.

World Cancer Day is 4th February. On this day communities, charities and organisations around the world unite to raise donations to fund cancer research and support those in need.

The World Cancer Day campaign offers messages of hope and a call to action for people around the world. This year, you can show your support by purchasing a Unity Band at Marie Curie Shops for a suggested donation of £2. The proceeds from the sales will help fund cancer research and help scientists make advancements in cancer diagnosis and treatment.

You can also take part by:

  • Showing your love and support for those who have cancer
  • Share a story of your experience with cancer
  • Donate to Cancer Research UK today
  • Help fundraise for Cancer Research through your community, school and healthcare organisation

World Cancer Fund Research International states that in 2012 there were an estimated 14.1 million cancer cases around the world. By 2035, this figure is expected to reach 24 million. Now is the time to take action.

You can join in the discussion on Twitter by using the hashtags #WeCanICan and #WorldCancerDay. For more information about what you can do to get involved, see the Marie Curie and Cancer Research UK websites.
