Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion Event - IBMS MCR Branch

The IBMS launched the EDI working group in August 2022, led by Tahmina who provided an update on the work during the hybrid IBMS Manchester Branch EDI Event on 18th January at the University of Salford. A total of 110 members joined the event online and in person.

The series of talks presented by Pradeep Passi covering the manifestations of EDI challenges, underrepresentation of staffing and leadership and improving cultural awareness was well received by all who joined.

IBMS Executive Head of Education, Sue Jones, also attended the event and provided an update to the new HCPC Standards of Proficiency relating to EDI in Education and Training and the updated QAA Subject Benchmarking Statement.

An extremely useful session was also presented by Jamal Zahid who talked about the different ways of celebrating diversity within the workplace.

Debra Padgett, IBMS President, joined us online and highlighted the developments in the EDI agenda.
