IBMS awards first eStudent British Science Festival Bursary
16 July 2014
Dee Kulaveerasingam has been selected as the first recipient of the IBMS eStudent BSA Science Festival Bursary

The bursary is awarded annually to an IBMS eStudent member, enabling then to attend the British Science Festival. The bursary offers IBMS eStudent members the chance to meet leading scientists and speakers, engage in discussions about the impact of science and to see excellent public engagement in action.

Dee is currently PhD student at the Randall Division of Cell and Molecular Biophysics, King's College London.

Dee is looking forward to furthering her science communication skills: "I am a big supporter of events which help break down the communication barriers between scientists and the public. These opportunities are fantastic and I am very grateful to the IBMS for awarding me this bursary. I hope to learn from expert scientific speakers on how to keep an audience engaged when discussing difficult topics. And I look forward to seeing what everyone thinks on how best to communicate science to the public!".
