IBMS Council member speaks at EuroSciCon

Sandra Phinbow is speaking at the live streaming event EuroSciCon.

EuroSciCon is a live streamed conference, which will focus on the following topic: Innovations in wound healing and wound management. This annual online event provides talks by professionals in the field and will look at new ways to promote wound healing and management. The event will be held 31st Jan to 2nd Feb 2017.

Sandra Phinbow is a Chartered Specialist Biomedical Scientist and a National IBMS Council member. She is listed in the Top 100 Leading Scientists in the UK.

Her talk is entitled: Honey, is it just for toast? A look at honey in the treatment of complex wounds.

Sandra explained, It’s about using Manuka honey to treat complex wounds such as leg ulcers. It has a multi-modal action that means it can be used in a variety of wounds, and it removes the need to use multiple dressings, making is a safe and easy treatment option. It's used throughout the UK in the community and secondary settings as a topical anti-microbial treatment. And it tastes good.”
