IBMS eStudent Regina Thurley reported back from a Careers and Employability Fair was organised by the College of Human Sciences in conjunction with the Bangor University Employability Office:

“The event was held to showcase some career opportunities, promote biomedical science related courses and IBMS membership within the College of Human Sciences. The stand was run by Biomedical Science students and it appeared to be successful. The event was publicised within the school on University social media and in print.

On the day biomedical science students including myself, James, Michelle, Diana and Frank ran the stand (photo above). I created a poster with a human figure on it and matching images of slides of different organ tissues. The aim of the activity was to match the images to the human organs. It was really fun and we got a good amount of interest from the visitors.

One of attendee’s written comments was ‘excellent information stand, I would definitely  sign up...’ , another student said that ‘it was a shame that this event was not on all day, it would be good for all students to attend’, another quote was ‘it was good’.”

If you are planning on participating in an event, have a look at our careers website for activity sheets, tips on how to get involved and how to order free promotional items. If you’re not an IBMS member, have a look at the free downloadable posters and leaflets on our website.
